[ICOM] New to the list

Hi Pete,
I've owned a 730 since it was first sold in the US, Traveled overseas and
operated for three years in Italy as IV3VYC (no longer held). I can attest
to the noise blanker being very effective, it even took out power line
noise! It also works against our electric fence charger on our horse farm!
That's a good NB if you ask me.
As far as mobile mounting, if you can get some 20 gauge steel, you can
easily make one yourself with a vise to bend it, or ask a machine shop to do
it for you as it'll only take a minute. Then give it a good paint job bolt
it in and make you connections.
I've not used it "mobile" unless you consider Maritime mobile to be the
same, then again diesel engines don't have ignition noise. I do however
think it will work fine for you.
73,

Subject: [ICOM] New to the list

Hi.

I am new to the list and hopefully someone out there can help. I am looking
for A) mobile mount for an Icom 730 or B) an alternate mounting
method/homebrew mounting technique.

Also any experience with the IC-730 and how effective is the noise blanker
for ignition and other vehicle noise.

It will most likely be mounted it in a truck (yet to be purchased very
likely a Toyota Tacoma).

Thanks
Pete W6JFR
