[ICOM] Band Edge Beep not working on Pro2

Other than a full reset of the unit (which means reprogramming the many 
frequencies I have stored) what else can I try to bring back the band edge 
beep on my Pro2?

Everything else works fine. I have confirmed that the Band Edge Beep is ON 
in the setup menu. I have tried cycling it off, exiting the menu and 
cycling it back on. Still no joy.

This small problem isn't worth sending the unit off for service since 
everything else is working well. It would be nice to bring it back if the 
fix is simple.

A full reset is the only thing left that I can think of. Before I do this I 
thought I would tap the vast reservoir of expertise and experience that 
resides within the cosmic boundaries of this email list.
