Yes, that's true, but the same results should hold true in other
locations and with other antennas.

The antennas used were not just pieces of wire.  Antennas for the tests
were a well-tuned 2-el shunt-fed vertical phased array on 160m and a 4-el
Yagi at 75' on 10m.  Operating skills are over 50 years as a licensed ham
-- over 40 of those years as an Extra Class (if it takes that much skill
to learn how to use the tools included with the receiver to best pull the
weak CW sigs up out of the noise).

The owners of the test radios also participated in the tests (the K2,
756Pro2, 756Pro3, FT-1000MP, TS-830S and Orion were mine).

I inadvertently left two other radios off of my list:

The same Yaesu FT-1000MP, but without the INRAD front-end mod, placed
just below the Kenwood TS-830S.

A Yaesu FT-920 placed just below the Yaesu FT-1000D.
