[ICOM] Re 746 Pro_ERRATIC_TUNING

I've noticed a problem with the tuning of my 746PRO. In a 10 or 15 degree 
excursion of the tuning knob the tuning is erratic and jumps around the 
displayed frequency without any appreciable change. If I keep turning the 
dial eventually the frequency again moves as expected in the rest of the 
dial degrees. It happens on all TS dial settings.
Has anyone had similar problems and how was it resolved?
Is it the shaft encoder as I suspect. Can it be dirt or some foreign matter 
on the encoder. I would think that the shaft encoder is sealed and dirt 
would be out of the question.
Thanks in advance for anyone's help.
Also, I'm still experiencing what appears to be instability when I try to 
run the rig on 6 meters. Was there a RF output board fix for this?
