Woody:
I wonder what the shortcomings of the IC-910 were? I have been using
one for about a year and a half, mostly on 1296 (and in contests), and
have found performance completely satisfactory. Maybe I am missing
something...?

Hi Dave:
A few years ago I did a side by side comparison between the IC-910,
TS-2000, and my IC-970H. I used all three rigs for two weeks. My main
concern was weak signal VHF/UHF SSB & CW, terrestrial as well as
satellite operation. I was lucky enough to have the rigs for testing
during the Sept. VHF/UHF contest, so there were many good opportunities
for weak signal comparison tests.
My IC-970H easily beat the IC-910 & the TS-2000. The IC-910 came in
second place and the TS-2000 was a very distant third place. I returned
both the IC-910 & the TS-2000.
