[ICOM] IC970H vs TS2000

Hi Dave:

A few years ago I did a side by side comparison between the IC-910,
TS-2000, and my IC-970H. I used all three rigs for two weeks. My main
concern was weak signal VHF/UHF SSB & CW, terrestrial as well as
satellite operation. I was lucky enough to have the rigs for testing
during the Sept. VHF/UHF contest, so there were many good opportunities
for weak signal comparison tests.

My IC-970H easily beat the IC-910 & the TS-2000. The IC-910 came in
second place and the TS-2000 was a very distant third place. I returned
both the IC-910 & the TS-2000.

I would not trade my IC-970H for both the TS-2000 & IC-910. Not even if
it were an "even" trade. Not even if the TS-2000 looked like a "real"
Ham radio instead of ugly DVD player. :-)

Subject: [ICOM] IC970H vs TS2000

Hello...I am sending this querry to both the kenwood and icom groups
hoping to find someone who has owned both rigs. I suspect that for
vhf/uhfuse, the icom is the better unit. Perhap that is not so. The
Kenwood is a newer design, and may have an edge. i am asking because at
the moment, I have no vhf/uhf antennas up and I'm thinking of selling
the icom. Would I end up kicking myself??
Thanks for your thoughts!!
...Dave
