[ICOM] CI-V "transceiver" mode?

Just a comment regarding the last suggestion from Mike. Whilst he is 110%
correct there is a problem with some Icom rigs regarding the voltage output.
On my 756 Pro II, for example, the voltage output is perfect for all bands
up to 15m, but higher than that the given output voltage doesn’t change.
Hence wrong info given. The Pro II gives correct information to the logging
software (DX4WIN) which in turns controls the decoder.

Why not use the band decoder analog voltage output? Just use a PIC or AVR
with a built in A/D converter. Seems to me it would be a lot less work.

My 756 Pro does, and if I recall correctly, my old 765 did as well, and was
changed with a DIP switch. inside the rig.
