I've had this sort of problem on all my rigs.  It happens.  Back when
I worked with computer hardware, the right thing to do was ALWAYS
check the power supply first, no matter what the symptoms.  It took a
while for me to learn that lesson, but, once I did, I saved much time
fixing things.
