The "standard" cure is to fix the power cable/connections.
One (or more) of the connections have developed a bad contact and when
you attempt to transmit the additional current that is required causes a
voltage drop so that the input falls to an unacceptable value.
The cable to set interface is the most common place for this to occur.
You can verify the problem by using a multimeter to measure the voltage
inside the set, or you can just "bite the bullet" and use a pair of long
nose pliers to squeeze the contact to make it a little smaller.
