[ICOM] 706 Filters

Neil,
I can only speak for the 250 hz cw filter. The filter is in the 9 mhz
IF, so blow past is evident if you have real strong stations. The 706
does wonders in the mobile, but on my TH11, or 2 ele on 40m at 120 ft on
the small mountain I'm on, 400 ft HAAT, or the 80m full-sized 4square, you
better use the attenuator. Long as you keep the signals down, the 250 hz
does wonders. I've worked lot of CW mobile while I was driving, much
easier copy with the 250 hz filter, especially when working split in
dx-peditions and pile-ups. I haven't counted, but have at least 100
countries on CW mobile, over 150 on all modes, using a 10 ft whip (most the
time) and an AH4. On 40 & 80, I change out to a Hustler with a 40 or 75m
top, have worked run's on Europeans on 40m just after sunset, really enjoy
it.

I'm using the Icom 706 and was using a narrow ssb filter. I want to
install the narrow cw filter and I'm interested if it does a better job
then the ssb filter ? Any comments ?

Tnx, Neil/NB7Q
