>From what I have been able to glean from contacts in Japan and various
websites, the Pro3 looks like an evolutionary improvement over the Pro2 in
some areas. The receiver front end promises to be somewhat stronger, and
there are indications that the Pro3 is fitted with a TI DSP chipset rather
than the ADI SHARC used in the Pro2. This may well provide additional DSP
"horsepower".

I am inclined to do again what I have done ever since the original IC-756
was first released - wait for the ARRL Lab test suite and any upgrades or
fixes resulting from it, wait a little longer to see which way the
reflectors are blowing (or outgassing) and then make a decision. So far, my
history with the '756" product family has been very positive.
