I totally agree. The problem I have is that when I pass a noisy power
line or traffic signal which gives me a high noise level, the noise is
not passed to the speaker, but the target signal sometimes lowers. This
is because the S/N ratio shrinks I guess. So it sounds like the other
station's signal strength has dropped, but looking at the S meter
reveals there is a high noise level instead.
As you know if HF mobiling, there are many outside noise sources.
I have it powered from the AH-4 connector on the 706 to come on with the
radio.
