Just a thought -- I never had any flickering on my 756pro displays until I
backed off the display intensity a bit. Both of my PROs flicker a bit
during keying (with or without amp) when the display intensity is only 5 or
so.

Subject: [ICOM] Flickering display - 756 Pro
Your thoughts??
After having no problems at all for years, this morning when I fired up the
756 Pro, Alpha 87a and called a DX station on CW, I noticed that the
display on the 756 Pro began flickering in sync with the CW keying. At the
time, I was running about a KW on the Alpha 87a. When I backed off on the
power a bit, the flickering stopped. I've never seen this problem before,
and I've run the same combination for years. The same thing happens,
regardless of the band while using my SteppIR antenna, or when running 30
meters or lower on inverted vees/slopers/dipoles.
All equipment is grounded/bonded/single point ground. I don't have a
keying relay between the Pro and the Alpha 87a because the 87a easily meets
the requirements on the relay in the Pro. Nothing has changed in the
configuration that I can attribute to this issue. All I can think of is
that maybe I SHOULD have a keying relay.....
Anyone seen this happen before??
