[ICOM] R-3 vs. R-10 ??

A friend has posed a question regarding an upcoming receiver purchase--  should he get an R-3 or an R-10 ?  Pros?  Cons?  Your experiences with these two models?  Sideband is not a concern for him.

Your thoughts please.  (I'm out of my element on this one.)
