Loren,

I found an easier place, had forgot this until I again looked at the
schematic. Have a look at Pin 4 of the mic connector. The SQLS line is tied
there through a transistor switch.
If there is no other reason the go into the radio just use the mic
connector. You have the PTT there, mic input through the mic amp, though
doubtful a CTCSS tone will pass through the mic amp, receive speaker level
audio on Pin 8 of the mic connector, SQLS on Pin 4, seems everything you
might need is right on the mic connector. If you need to send a CTCSS tone
then you might need to inject your tx audio after the mic amplifier stage,
I used to specify the wiper of the deviation pot, most generally had good
luck there. If you controller can't deal with speaker level audio grab
detector level audio from Pin 9 of the TK10420 2nd IF chip

I don't have a circuit board layout for the 3210.
J-10 looks like it plugs into J 3 on the main unit. It should be a 15 pin
connector with Pin 15 having 13.8 volts applied when the power is on.
Usually Icom numbers the jacks as " J " and the mating plugs as " P "
something. In the late 80's it was not uncommon to see both jacks and plugs
shown on the schematic labeled as " J " something
Pin 6 is a ground connection on that same connector and Pin 5 is the SQLS
line. The jack numbers should be on the circuit board

I hope some of this helps.
