While on dxpedition to T7 and IS0 my ICOM IC-706MKIIG stated shutting =
down on it's own while in the transmit mode. After operating for a =
short period of time it just shut down as if you turned the power switch =
off. It then would come back on and continue transmitting. This =
continued and each shut down took longer to come back on. I first =
thought it was common to RTTY when I was using MMTTY at 100 watts. But =
I went to PSK-31 running 25 watts and it would do the same. Also would =
shut down on SSB. The radio felt pretty hot. My friend loaned me =
another 706 and it worked just fine using the same operating conditions =
and arrangement. Prior to this trip I have only used the radio on two =
other dxpeditions.
Any help?
