Yes, there are small screws under the strip.  Heat with a hair drier and use
a small point needle and lift a corner and it will come right off...

I have an IC765 that has a slightly loose plexiglass cover over the readout-
S meter. Are their screws under the strip that has the Logo and model# on
it; and if so does it come off easlily or do I have to take the front panel
off the radio to get at it. Any hints would be appreciated. The service
manual does not show anything.
