Doug,
I don't have much of a noise problem with my new 706, except for the
external sources that needed attention such as the fuel pump. The noise
blanker does fairly well on most of the noise sources outside of my truck.
Overall I am very happy with the performance of the 706 for mobile. I
reduced the noise sources from the truck to that of being no concern via
grounding and use of several split beads. I also do not use the preamp
unless necessary, which is almost never.
73,
Ken, KA0W
