[ICOM] IC 756 Display

After 4 years it's there again, the blue lines. It's my second display. How looow can you go......

The facts in June 2004:

According to Icom Europe and Icom UK the displays are available on an exchange basis, delivery times approx. 6 months.
I have to send mine in and will receive a REPAIRED one in return. Dealings in this matter with Icom Europe (Germany) are exclusively through their network of dealers. Icom UK was willing to exchange direct without a middleman earning money on this.

Icom America had no clue, the part was not on their list and was classified as obsolete, their advise was to purchase another HF transceiver according to the lady on extension #5.

Anyway, the failed displays will be send to Japan and repaired. I wonder what this repair actually does to the display and what the expected lifetime of the refurbished LCD display will be.
