[ICOM] 756Pro Alignment - AGAIN!!

OK folks, I'm back with the same 756Pro problem. Remember a couple of weeks we had a discussion on 756Pro alignment? I got some really good advice, and I followed it. I did get the USB and LSB sounding the same when switching between them. I check the tone on WWV using the PSK software and the USB and LSB tones are the same within 2/10th of a hz.. Sure seems close enough to me.

I did some PSK31 work this last weekend for the first time. When I transmit, the other station will see my signal just outside the AFC capture band and this will require him to click freq a few hz. Same for me, when he transmits to me, I will lose the first portion of his transmission because I also have to click over to change freq a few hz. It's just outside the software AFC freq capture zone. Anyone know how many hertz are in the normal AFC passband for a normal PSK31 program? I'm using a couple of different programs, WINPSK is one, and the other is...... hmm, I guess I'm getting old!! It's on the computer at home and here I am at work.

I get a good clean signal report - and the station seemed to fully understand what I was looking for, not just a "599" report, silliest thing in the world for PSK!!

This sounds like the transmitted signal is not locked exactly the same as the received signal. Any ideas on how to fix this? This is a used rig I bought from a ham up in MI last Nov. I think he was honest and did not know of this problem as he was looking for a trade to the MP1000 rig at first.

Thanks for any ideas and help,
