I am not sure what you mean by "lost codes", hi.
I spent quite a time on trying to find 'hidden' commands, to no avail. With a 
modification of one of my programs I automatically sent all possible codes, 
one byte, two bytes, with and without data, all what seemed to make sense. 
But all I got back was the "no good" reply from the rig. So I am pretty 
certain that there are no undocumented features in the CI-V interface.

When playing around with CI-V you have to keep in mind that the 
interface/protocol design is about 20 yrs old. For that is has pretty much 
held up to development, although it is certainly lacking many nice features.

I don't see no particular reason why basic things like status of 'split', 
'dual watch' etc. should be feasible, except limitations of the underlying 
hardware.
Maybe someone from Icom is listening? Maybe the 7800 and furutre rigs will 
have upgradeable code to incorporate new features...
