[ICOM] BCB filter

I don't know how accurate the claimed specs are, but the Dunestar claims to
have an insertion loss of 0.7-0.9 db above 1800 kHz and 40 db attenuation at
1.0 MHZ.

The ICE claims about 47 db at 1.0 MHz according to their graph at
http://www.arraysolutions.com/Products/ice/filtersrf.html#bcb
and a lot less higher in frequency in the BCB. They don't claim any
minimum attenuation above 1800.

The W3NQN claims 50-80 db from 500 kHz to 1.4 MHz and only 0.2 db insertion
loss at 1.8 MHz and typically 0.1 db from 2.5 to over 35 MHz. That's the
$160 one however. It's also at
http://www.arraysolutions.com/Products/BCB%20RF%20Filters.htm

But, how much attenuation does one need?

I use the Dunestar 400-HPF with my 781. Works like a champ. Without it, my
781 has a lot of intermod products on all bands when I use my 80 or 160M
antennas. I've had the same problem with every other transceiver I've tried.
I have a 50KW station a few kilometers away...
