[ICOM] BCB Interference.

Dan,
I have an IC-706MKII. I also live between two AM radio stations that are no
more than a mile and a half from each other. I was amazed to learn that I
had to ground everything metal in sight of the radio to cut the noise down.
This was true for another radio as well. One of the most amazing phenomenon
to me was how much interference was cut down when I grounded a metal file
cabinet sitting in the middle of the room with nothing electrical about it.
There are still times when the noise level goes up, but it only goes up to
about s-5 now instead of 20/9. I haven't found out what causes the rise in
noise level, but when it happens, I double check some of my ground
connections. When moving the radio from the car to the house, I don't
always connect the ground securely and get the problem.
Strangely enough, I tried the rig with a low pass filter and that reduced
the noise but with 6 meters on the same connector, it isn't practical for me
to keep the filter on the rig.
I know this doesn't help you with your BC band filter, which I would like to
know about too, but maybe it will be helpful to someone.
Good Luck,
Buck

I need a BCB filter.
One of the local AM stations is now a problem all over HF.
I have checked my IC756pro2 and also my IC756pro and they both hear this
station all over HF.
This has just started I am wondering if this station has been allowed a
higher power level as I have not had problems in the past.
Was a 5000w station about 2.5 miles from here on 1100kc.
Every 1100kc I hear the station loud and on certain freqs in between.
Anyone out there know where to get a good BCB filter?
Thanks
Dan W0VD
