Hi Bill,
Just checked my IC-756Pro2 receiver from 50.000 to 51.000 MHz, with ANT 1/R
selected and terminated in 50 ohms. No birdies or spurs anywhere in the
frequency range I checked.
Cheers for now, 73,
Adam VA7OJ/AB4OJ

Try turning the computer off ...Lots of Birdies from many PC's. Nothing on
50.125 here.

I checked both of my 756 PRO's and not a sound on 50.125 unless the antenna
is connected. Then noise.
Same for the IC-7800, which does have a noticeable birdie at 50.140.

Hi Martin,
Welcome to the magic band! I have the original Icom 756Pro, and it too has
a minor birdie at 50.125. I run the auto notch filter on when I'm working
6, and it takes it out OK. I've never asked the question, but it seems
that it may be a common characteristic. Yes, 50.125 is the SSB calling
frequency. See you on 6!
73,
Joe
