It's easier to adapt the AH-2 Control Unit, and an
AH-2 or AH-4 Tuner, if the Brand (?) transceiver has
a built-in antenna tuner. The trick is to get at the
"tune" lead in the transceiver, then determine if it
needs battery or a grount to go active. This lead will
set the transceiver to the CW mode, reduce the power
to about 10 watts, and key the transmitter. Use a simple
RdoShk relay to interface to the PTT lead comming out
of the AH-2 Control Unit. Now, when all this is
hooked up the TUNE button on the AH-2 Control Unit
will properly control the transceiver. Did this
to a Kenwood 940S I had. Worked for years. Using the
AH-2 Control Unit with the IC-751A is like if the
751A is Brand (?) in that the mode must be set each
time by the operator. Good Hunting.
