[ICOM] Icom AH-4 and brand Y rig

I have a friend that has a control box for a Icom AH-2 but no tuner.  He
wants to use a AH-4 and his AH-2 control box with his brand Y rig.  From
earlier posts it sounds like a AH-2 will work with the current Icom rigs 
without using the control box.  Can the AH-4 and the old control box be
used together with a foreign rig?
