   Sorry about the use of the term "noise floor".  Likely the wrong terminology
   for the problem. Shows I'm still a bit technically challenged.  Should have
   just left it at too much sensitivity, I guess.  Suffice it to say, the MKIIG
   picks up way too much crap for my liking.  How's that?
I think there are situations where the RX sensitivity is approriate,
and that at other times the attenuator is available.  Have you tried
using the Preamp and Att controls to address the problem?

   And, on a more positive note, I too would like to see the perfect 706 with
   dual receive capability and tracking VFO's for satellite work.

And I want to reiterate the addition of the possibility of having the
audio stream enabled only in association with the appropriate PTT
source, so that the mike is not active when providing PTT and audio
through the ACC port.  This would be equivalent to the 756PRO
USB-D/LSB-D (not that that's the perfect solution for SSTV, either).
