Hi Chuck,
I don't know if you got a satisfactory response to your question but I found
something that could be of interest in the manual on page 10 (in the PDF
document it's page 13). The two pictures in the bottom right hand corner of
the page indicates there is a ground wire in the separation cable which has
to be connected. I hope it helps.

Subject: [ICOM] PW-1 problem
I need some help with my new PW-1.
I have an IC-756PROII and just received a PW-1 amplifier. During the
separation of the remote controller from the amplifier I noticed on page 10
of the PW-1 manual in step 8 it says "Connect the grounding wire as shown
below." I never could find that grounding wire and cannot see it in the
illustration and then continued to complete the separation of the remote
controller. My amplifier is working with my IC-756PROII except that I cannot
get the amplifier to automatically change bands with the PW-1 and my CT-17
installed with my computer.
Can someone give me information on this grounding wire?
Thanks very much-Chuck Kresge DU3NXE du3nxe at mozcom.com
