Wonder then why virtually all dealers require proof of license to get an
Icom linear with 10M? Discrimination? ;-)
Maybe CBers running 1,000 watts are more like drug dealers?? ;-)

Years ago, there was a law, sold to amateurs only, proof of license
required. Someone challenged the law and won. It was blatant
discrimination. Look at the ads in old QST, CQ and such, and you will find
the wording, proof of license required. I do not remember the exact year,
but I bought a Regency ATC-1 converter for my car in 1960, and that question
was asked....it was an amateur band converter. Good unit by the way.
Thank our lawyers for that one.
