Something to think about.
I had a failure of my AH-2/3 and it turned out to be a relay coil had
shorted out on one of the relays.
The way I found it was by doing a very close inspection of the circuit
board when I suddenly noticed that one of the resistors was black and
didn't have the color code visible anymore. That resistor was in series
with the relay coil and so it was easy to find the relay. It didn't
look bulged or distorted as some on the SIG have noted in their relay
failure reports.
You might give your AH4 a visual and see if you find any burnt parts and
then pull the associated relay to check it's coil resistance.
One other thought. As I recall, the unit would tune on some bands but
not others. You might give that a try also as that would also suggest a
relay was stuck as opposed to some other type of failure.
