[ICOM] New Pro III - Hold On Guys!

Bill......Hi Bill...Dave here (you may remember you sold me on the Santa
Fe!!).
You are mistaken on one item that I will tell you about.

I am not married to any one brand rig. I love my PRO, but in several
respects, it takes a back seat to the 1000D.

Recently, I spoke to TenTec and asked them about the Jupiter. They came
right out and told me
that it is a toy compared to the older Omni series (V VI and VI+).

I purchased an OMNI V, and liked it so much that I sold it and got an OMNI
VI+ and later picked up a Argonaut V.

Way back when I bought a new TS830S, I looked at Ten Tec and thought the
build quality was kind-of MFJ like. But, I always wanted to try one.

In short, if you operate any CW, what you have heard is correct. The Ten Tec
comes out ahead.
Compared to the OMNI VI+ (and Argonaut V) the 756Pro does not even have QSK.
The Ten Tec just does it so much better!

I view the Ten Tec as lower technology than the YaeComWoods.
That is why I purchased two of them.

There are still some things about the 756Pro that I have to refer to the
manual. That is why you see all these little referance cards for sale.

Looking at my PC sound card spectrum analyzer, there is no rig that has such
steep skirts on the filter shapes as the 756Pro line.

But there is also no rig as easy and comfortable to use...LARGE readout,
easy access to keyer speed, notch, AGC etc. as the Ten Tec. And, as I said..
the QSK is light years ahead of any other rig. So, if by chance you like
CW...the Ten Tec performs better than a PRO.

So, there is no one best rig...they each have their merits. Listening to a
QSO on SSB, I still prefer my KWM2A over all of them!!

.....Dave
