Subject: [Icom] Marine 402 MMSI unlock
Date: Fri, 16 Apr 2004 14:43:18 -0400
I'm curious if anyone knows the MMSI 'unlock' codes for the ICOM 402. I
purchased a used boat with this radio, obtained a new MMSI number from the
FCC and can't program as the radio has me locked out. I got this response
from ICOM tech support,
"You will need to take the radio to an ICOM marine dealer that is capable of
programming the number via a computer program,"
This implies (at least to me) that there is a command sent to the radio via
the NMEA port that either changes the MMSI number or unlocks it so it can be
change via the keypad.
Suggestions?
Thanks!
