[Icom] Relay

Dave,
I used an Ameritron ARB-702 with my IC-756Pro and it worked fine. There are
some internal jumpers you can change and it's possible that yours aren't
configured properly. A call to Ameritron should straighten that out rather
quickly.
I will always use a relay buffer between my rig and amplifier. Aside from
saving wear and tear on the relatively delicate Icom relay, which will
eventually have consequences, it's cheap insurance against possible line
transients and component failures within the amp that can be detrimental to
the rig. I currently have the Ameritron ARB-704, but would've bought the
AmpKeyer (http://www.theheathkitshop.com/ampkeyer.html), which I highly
recommend, IF you can ever get one.
73 and good luck,
Scott, W9AL
