[Icom] Relay

I have an Icom 756 Pro, which is driving an Alpha 78
amplifier. Several people have told me on the air that
I need a relay box to keep the amp from feeding
current back into the 756 and frying its relays.

Anyone know if this is true? Also if so, what relay
box works for this?

I have an Ameritron relay box, but it has a din plug
to go into the accessory plug, but when I try this it
does not work.

When I called AES they said that a relay box was not
necessary -- but I have talked to several hams who
have had to send their 756 back for repair due to this
problem.
