[Icom] Modifying an IC-751A for QRP?

Does anyone on the list know of a modification to allow QRP operation wit=

an IC-751A ?  On my IC-730, all I had to do was turn a pot under the cove=
r
to extend the range on the low end.  Is there a similar mod with the IC-7=
51A
or do I have to attach an "attenuator" to the ALC input?=0D
