Speaking of the Orion and their offerings. I rotated the tuning knob on every Ten-Tec at the show and every one had an eccentric knob. Looks like all their knobs have oversize holes and when tightened to the shaft are off center. That is something mechanically simple, wonder how well the craftsmanship is on the rest of their products?

As far as the ICOM reps at Dayton were concerned, it is the IC-7800 now, but if a US version carries a different number, they didn't know about that, yet.
Only time will tell us.
If even half the things they told me about the receiver(s) (yes, I said receivers), is true, this radio will dominate any and or all amateur radios, and hold it's own against most commercial/mil radios anywhere.

Orion? forget it! Not even in the same class, totally out of it's league against the IC-7800...
