As far as the ICOM reps at Dayton were concerned, it is the IC-7800 now, but if a US version carries a different number, they didn't know about that, yet.
Only time will tell us.
If even half the things they told me about the receiver(s) (yes, I said receivers), is true, this radio will dominate any and or all amateur radios, and hold it's own against most commercial/mil radios anywhere.

Orion? forget it! Not even in the same class, totally out of it's league against the IC-7800...
