I have a 706 installed in a 1990 Tercel.  There was a storage cubby
compartment in the center radio stack console.  I just removed that and slip
the whole 706 in/out as needed.  Sure, there's an ugly gap there when the
radio is not installed for some reason, but that's not too often.
