I was not too explicit on what I meant by the following.
"I plan on using the power plugs, ie, the extra cigarette lighter plugs to
run it. I would like to remove the ash tray and use that area to put the
face plate in. Has anyone tried this?"
I would use the power plug not the cigarette lighter. As I donot smoke,
the ash tray with cigarette lighter is expendible. The lid therefor a good
thing to hide a faceplate, or, a small device. The power plug is marked
max 12V / 120W. I think that it would handle a 50w TRx.
