Wayne all good points, and I find the $spread to be greater on the higher
end rigs. Pays to shop stateside.
Also, just for clarification, your warranty is still valid on a imported
(new) radio. Just not in Canada. Simply means you have to ship it back to
Burghardt's or Gigaparts or where ever you purchased it for service, which
in my experience is infinitely preferabe to the operation on Canada's west
coast. The shipping costs to and from the states vs. a turn around from
Vancouver may be slightly higher depending on the carrier and your location,
however this is generally pretty insignificant when you consider a 3 week
turn around vs. 8 weeks (or longer).
