Hi Mike,

Please visit the following link:

http://www.qsl.net/icom/auxrelay.html

The 756Pro II keying relay is rated at 16V 0.5A. The 12V 100mA spec of the
AL-80A keying line is within these ratings, but it is prudent to use an
auxiliary keying circuit (relay or solid-state buffer). You can build or
buy; there are several links at the bottom of the page referred to above,
for suppliers of ready-built keying interfaces as well as for a simple DIY
relay circuit.

Subject: [Icom] PRO II relay

Hi guys & gals -
I've got a 756 Pro II coming in the mail. My amp (Ameritron AL-80A)keying
specs are 12V DC @ 100ma. Will I need to use an external relay, or will the
internal one handle this load? From what I read on the net, the internal
relay is a bit wimpy.
Thanks,
Mike Reublin NF4L
