Hands down the 706mkIIg is the better rig for /M (better overall for
anything)
Most all the common use things on the 100 are on the menu, most commonly
used things on the 706 are buttons!
This makes changing things easier since you can feel the buttons and
don't need to look at a screen while you are going 70 MPH...which makes
for high speed CW! HI HI
I have at one time owned two 706's. I have run them from home, field
day, portable and mobile.
BTW... mobile CW is loads of fun! I barely ever use voice modes!
I showed the 706mkIIg to several friends, one was debating the same two
radios - he now loves the 706 in his car and boat!
The 706 has two filter slots mine have only CW filters in them... I can
fiddle with the DSP for voice when I do find myself on those modes.
Go with the 706!
