[Icom] Re Icom 775

A friend has an Icom 775 he purchased new in 1999. SN: 1975. He has had nothing
but trouble with it. It is currently back at the factory the fourth time for
service. It only has about fifty hours on it since it was last serviced. 
Not the
same issue. 	
	
Is this typical for the model 775 or has he got one that he needs to spray 
paint
a bright lemon yellow? Any common known issues in models below SN 2000?
