[Icom] Carrying Cases for the ICOM 746 PRO and the 910H

Hi Barry:

A lot of cases come with "pick-n-pluck" foam. This has cubes of foam precut
on all sides, except the bottom, usually in 1/2" to 1" cubes. You just have
to "pluck" out the cubes to make an opening to fit the foot print of your
equipment.

Pelican cases are not cheap, but when you consider how much you paid for the
Icom radios that it will protect from damage and loss, the cost of the case
is reasonable insurance.

Making your own cutout with the "pick-n-pluck" foam would most likely be a
lot less expensive than them custom cutting a piece of foam. Since you will
be a walk-in customer, they may not charge extra to cut the foam.

I would also check on buying a spare top and bottom piece of foam for the
case to use for the next Icom rig that you buy.

If you have any more questions Barry, please contact me direct instead of on
the reflector. I am sure that we have tried Dick's patience enough with
this subject. :-)

Woody

Thanks for the information on Pelican. I checked and the company is about a
day's drive so I can take everything down to them.

Hi Barry:

The best protective carrying cases are made by Pelican. check out
http://www.pelican.com

They make a very broad line of protective and water-proof cases.
