Look in your manual on page 54. Menu #30. This is the setup to send a line
to ground. Most commonly used to trigger an interface for an amplifier
relay. Page 6 has the details of the pin specs.Very low current so watch
out. Possibly use an amp keying interface to switch contacts on an RF relay
will do the trick. In the menu setup you can choose "u only" which will let
you use the "v-send line" to key the relay when operating UHF and when on 2
meters it will not operate the relay as 2 meters keys the "H-send line"
which should not be hooked up. I use this setup to key my 2 meter and 432
amps in my truck. In my application I use the "U only" menu setup and use
pin 7(v send) to trigger the interface for my 432 amp and I use pin 3(h
send) to trigger another interface for my 2 meter amp.I use a duplexer to
handle the RF seperation. Remember this is a low current relay in the rig
and can easily fail if pushed too hard. The manual states less than 20 ma.
There are many amp interface designs around so just choose what works best
for you then add a good quality relay to handle both ant. inputs. Good luck
and be careful. Rick.
