Hi Frank,
The IC-765 PSU is similar to the PS-35. There is a circuit description of it
on p. 3-12 of the IC-765 service manual - a 28 MB file, downloadable at
<http://www.qsl.net/icom/manuals.html>
Cheers for now, 73,
Adam VA7OJ/AB4OJ

Subject: [Icom] PS-35 Tech Info Needed
The Internal Power Supply in my ICOM IC-751A, the PS-35 has quit operating.
The fuses are not blown. It just doesn't start anymore.
Physical inspection revealed an open solder connection between to
odd-looking transformer devices. Repairing that did not correct the trouble.
I'm told that the usual problem with these switching power supplies is
failed capacitors. I don't know as I don't have much experience with
switching power supplies.
I have the schematic that came with the unit but I'm not familiar with the
functioning of this type of unit.
Is there a source for a description of the circuitry or perhaps a service
manual for the PS-35??
If not, are there any recommendations on where I might get this unit
serviced??
Many thanks to all.
