Not a thing wrong with the PRO, Rich. I traded mine for a near-new 746PRO
just because I had the PRO2 which is somewhat better in some respects than
the PRO and the PRO was seeing little use.
The 746PRO has some operational features that the PRO lacks plus being
almost as good in most respects as the PRO2. I feel that the 746PRO even
with its lack of large color display, Spectrum Scope, Dual Watch, etc. is a
better performing radio than the PRO.
I know of no technical or operational reason(s) to dispose of a good-working
PRO. It is still a great radio. But with a new 746PRO and power supply and
shipping for $1400 it is hard to justify spending the same amount of money
for a used PRO. That is why I traded given the opportunity.
Incidentally, I see that my PRO is again on the market on QTH.COM. See the
ad for K4FLG . . .unless he has traded it by now. <:}
