Right you are! And in what appears to be in the same sentence! After seeing
what they have done with the old 746 with the new 746PRO, I would be very
surprised if they did not update the 706 accordingly, even if it means
dropping 70 cm coverage. The 746PRO is just a hair away from being as good
or better than the PRO2 in many respects.

That would also explain the numerous postings of 706 prices dropping.
