[Icom] 706MKIIG v FT100

Far as I know the ft-100s are discontinued. The new rig (another attempt
to compete with 706 series) is the ft-857...reviewed in august qst and
criticized having incredibly complex menu system.

Aside from "brand loyalty" and other similar subjective issues, I would
appreciate opinions on actual user knowledge re the 706MKIIG as a mobile
only application vs. the BrandX  FT100.
Also would like to hear any rumors as to replacement models for
either...not interested in the low power versions of small HF
rigs...gotta be 100w type.
