Hello Joe,
Yes, I did a lot of A/B comparisons between the IC-756ProII and the
FT-1000D.
Both are excellent transceivers, IMHO.
The display, the huge filterchoice, the NR, the spectrum scope and the Twin
PassBandTuning are excellent points of the ProII. I use this rig mainly for
digital modes and on 50 MHz. I think this ProII is one of the most advanced
and innovating rigs been made. It is easy to take this rig along, e.g. on a
fieldday or holidays.
For SSB I use my 1996 1000D with Inrad filters 2800, 2100, 400/500 and 250
Hz. It is a pleasure to listen to its receiver which is very quite and has
an optimal 4 IF's selectivity. The real independent second receiver is an
excellent feature of this rig. The PA delivers between 200 and 225 Watt
power output. The heavy flywheel-weighted tuningknobs are the best I ever
felt!
I love both rigs and will keep both of them.

Subject: [Icom] IC-756 Pro II vs Yaesu FT-1000D
Has anyone performed an A/B comparison of the two radios? I have a Pro II,
which is much better than the Mark V I had (sold it), but I would like to
know how the Pro II measures up to the FT-1000D.
Thanks!
Joe
